Hello,
I have 2 laptops (Windows XP SP3) in a workgroup, that cannot connect.
I have a 3Com Secure Router.
I get the following message:
 
"Unable to log you on because of an account restriction"
 
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong???

Can you tell us what you are trying to do?

You say they are a member of a workgroup - which is pretty much *not*
different (for Windows NT and above OSes) than just being a stand-alone
computer that happens to have the same workgroup name as other computers.
Do you mean they are in a domain by chance?

What is giving you the message you quoted?
In what situation?

Please be as detailed as possible - as only *you* can see what you are
trying to describe and know what your configuration(s) are...

For example...
-- "Windows XP SP3" --> Home, Professional, Media Center, Tablet PC Edition?
-- "3Com Secure Router" --> Make/Model/Purpose?
-- "I get the following message" --> When you do what while trying to do
what on what?

That's fantastic - really.

However - it would be great if you also provided the solution you came up
with so that in the indefinite time this message will be archived - others
who might come across it might benefit from your solution - be able to use
it for their own purposes and such.

I appreciate you came back to let everyone know it was fixed - but could you
come back once more and respond with what was wrong and how you fixed it for
the benfit of everyone?
