Suddenly I can't display printer properties or preferences for all my
installed printers.
I've run sfc /scannow, gone through KB324757, reinstalled all my printer
drivers but I still have the problem.
How can I resolve this ?
Many thanks
Went through the printui.dll and verified each DLL it referenced. Seems the
problem was with compstui.dll being zero (0) bytes in length.
Solution
1. delete compstui.dll
2. Windows File Protection will ask you to insert your XP disk
3. WFP will then reinstall compstui.dll
4. Properties now displays

No idea as yet how this dll got stomped, although I would recommend others
search for zero byte DLL's within their windows root and like Windows File
Protection do its job.
Anyway, nice to have a successful resolution so earlier on in the year.

I have encounter the same situation. Can't figured it out.
How did you do the following: printui.dll and verified each DLL it referenced
how?
thanks
Went through printui.dll using Process Explorer from SysInternals. Found all
the .dll references (there might be an easier way).
Then I checked that these dll's actually existed and were correct size etc.
Hope this helps
Chris
