Just learn to check on occassion.
Seriously.
Any of the updater apps you get will fall out of service or at least become
worthles with time. I base this off many years of experience with such
things.
Your best bet - from an automation standpoint - is to bookmark the page in
question and use some sort of utility that lets you know when a bookmarked
page is updated. (Bookmark the download page for the app in question and
have the program that checks for updates on a page check that particular
page.)
Otherwise - just resign yourself to checking once per month or some schedule
you can keep for updates.

And to be honest, this is an XP forum where volunteers help when they can.
Shouting orders on an off-topic subject ain't gonna make many of us want to
put pen to paper...

While I don't see what the point of Olórin's response was - as it provided
no assistance to you as the OP - I do have to also wonder about your
response...
What does being disabled have to do with typing in all upper case lettering?
Are you saying that not only should everyone on the Internet should know
from your post that you are disabled in some fashion, but that because you
are disabled, you should be treated differently than anyone else posting on
these newsgroups?
I'm curious.

No direct assistance on the problem at hand, no, I'll grant that. Is that
essential though? If my reply helps the OP post a more well-crafted question
in future, one more likely to get replies, surely that's enough of a point?

If it is enough for you - it is enough for you.
That doesn't mean *I* will see it that way.
In this case - in particular - the OP only had one section - the last -
where all upper case lettering was utilized. Everything else was properly
formed - punctuation and all (perhaps not 100% correct - but not horribly
formatted.) This was certainly not the worst case I had seen in the last
three minutes even of poor posting techniques. Yet - out of all the ones in
the newsgroups that you could have responded to - you chose this one and you
didn't bother to provide any actual advice on the problem at hand - which
was described in a calm and well-crafted manner.
If one had to describe the final sentence - the only 'not-so-well-crafted'
part, really - "ADVISE ON ALL OF THIS PLEASE." sounds more like a desperate
plea and not, "Shouting orders..." to me. It's a matter of comprehension
and interpretation, I suppose.
Off-subjet, I'll grant that. Of course in a newsgroup titled,
"WindowsXP.NewUsers", likely 75% of the subjects are off-subject here. And
in the "WindowsXP.Help_and_support" newsgroup, because of a misunderstanding
of the purpose originally intended for that newsgroup - likely 95%+ are
off-subject there. ;-)
It *is* enough for me, thanks.
I can comment on one post without having to comment on all of them, or only
the worst, surely?
And as opposed to merely "not bothering", I *chose* not to "provide any
actual advice on the problem at hand" simply because it was off-topic. Or
are you suggesting that because a high percentage of posts are off-topic,
responders really should start trying to help them? Cf your recent
response(s) to "DR" in his/her subject, "i have 2 gigs of ram
installed..." - you suggested not multi-posting and offered no actual
advice, either.
