I have found the same problem and it seems to be related to the latest batch
of security updates released by Microsoft.

I uninstalled a few of the latest "Hotfixes" and now I can browse the network
fine.

Thanks for the tip.

I have traced the problem to KB885250, removing this and turning off
Automatic Updates is the only workaround I have been able to come up with.
Microsoft support responce from Martin Ma has stated "I fully understand the
inconvenience of this issue. However, I am afraid that there will not be a
hotfix for this issue." so unless there is a major change Microsoft has no
interest in fixing the problem they created.
