Every time I start my PC, the program folder opens.
I don´t want that (I prefer a desktop with only icons on it after start-up).

Hi Lucy,

Download Startup Tracker application from this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_starttrack.htm

Launch the program, and click the "View log" button. Post the contents of
the log file here.

Lucy,

Probably these two entries are causing the problem

- - -
LDM - C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop
Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
LogitechSoftwareUpdate - C:\Program\Logitech\Video\ManifestEngine.exe
- - -

Click Start, Run and type Regedit.exe
Navigate to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Double-click the entry named "LDM"

Enclose the existing data within double-quotes.

So that the following data:

C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop
Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe

becomes:

"C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop
Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe"

Close Regedit.exe

Hi Ramesh
First I only changed

C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop
> Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
into "C:\...............8876480.exe".
Didn´t solve the problem.
In fact, the double-quotes disappeared
after re-start of my PC.
Then I added double-quotes to both

C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop
> Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
and
C:\Program\Logitech\Video\ManifestEngine.exe .
Solved the problem!
The double-quotes of the first line (.....8876480.exe) disappeared
after re-start though.
Anyway, thanks a bunch.
Lucy
