Re: Made folder private and now can't undo it

The folder is probably inheriting the permission from another folder
higher up.

If you made C:\Documents and Settings\Sarah private all the folders
below it will inherit the permission and the option to change it in
those folders below will be shaded and unavailable.

Thanks John but it doesn't really help me fix the problem.

It is the C:\Documents and Settings\Sarah folder that is private which won't
let me untick the 'make this folder private' box. How do I get permission to
stop this folder from being private?

Try retaking ownership of the folder and all its subcontainers and
objects.

You could check the properties of C:\Documents and Settings and make sure
that *that* folder isn't also set to private.
