No. At least not the final release.

Well, did YOU see it when visiting the Windows Update web site? Did
YOU see a non-beta version listed there?

I don't usually visit the said website, as I let windows XP update
itself automatically, but anyway, I just went there and no there wasn't
any sp3.

Nothing but there are some people they are only looking for a fight on
the net for nothing. I agree wrong computer time does not kill anybody
but there are people here who are expects people's computer time to be
correct at all time!!

Yes I am aware of what you say there. I've actually come across this
last year sometime, where I was flamed for having a different computer
time to someone elses.

I know my PC's time is right for my country, so I'm not really bothered
by what the other poster said. I could say his was wrong, lol.

This one says it was sent at 9:11 PM tonight, so maybe you are in Europe
(just guessing).

No, it's not your Time that's wrong, it's your TIME ZONE setting. You are
probably set to the default Pacific Standard Time setting that is default in
Windows setup. The clock in the Notification area has a drop box for
timezone settings. Since you are 8 hours out, you probably need the timezone
for GMT, London time.

Nothing.

Your Time Zone is likely not set properly for where you are or your time
would look the same here to everyone (in reference to their time zone, etc.)
Whenever your time zone is off and you post here - the time is offset from
everyone else. It's not that your *time* is wrong to you when you look at
your clock... It is that your "time zone" is not set properly.

What that means is that you posted this morning (for me) at 5:37AM. But
your posting is offset (to me) by 8 hours. It looks to me like you posted 8
hours in the future and I somewhow responded to you almost 8 hours before
you even posted (I replied to you at 5:49AM Central Time.) This is usually
accounted for by an incorrect time zone setting.

Time Zone Map:
http://aa.usno.navy.mil/faq/docs/world_tzones.php

or here:
http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/tzones.html

This web page explains it somewhat:
http://classicasp.aspfaq.com/general/why-are-people-telling-me-to-fix-my-clock/timezone.html

Look here:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support/browse_frm/thread/724336d05ae62960/a4c49f39daa56023#a4c49f39daa56023
That is this conversation - if not already that way - view it as a tree
under OPTIONS (top-right above the messages...)

Look at the time in your first posting, then look at the time of my first
response - which was "actually" 12 minutes later. There it is - archived
for posterity and beyond that your timezone may be set incorrectly. A 12
minute difference shown as nearly an 8 hour difference - with me answering
you in the past... ;-)

Looking at another post of yours from last month:
http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/browse_frm/thread/37d51aff663ee560/7ca3dc7e56907b09?lnk=st&q=#7ca3dc7e56907b09
This was not the case. Your time is shown properly.

As it is here:
http://groups.google.com/group/uk.sci.weather/browse_frm/thread/bfaae6f385b8065/27e19117774cb862?lnk=st&q=#27e19117774cb862
... also last month.

However - looking at another post (yesterday) of yours:
http://groups.google.com/group/uk.telecom.mobile/browse_frm/thread/8a0fd714e34767d6/5cd89a41ebdae266?lnk=st&q=#5cd89a41ebdae266
... you are suddenly ahead of everyone...

Something changed between January and February...

Otherwise call me curious as to what country/location you are posting
from... Please post the name - I mean that last post of yours does point to
the UK - but who knows. ;-)

Your TIMEZONE being wrong can have all sorts of ramifications other than
posting to newsgroups from the future....

Ok, thanks for that, I didn't realise it had changed? Anyways, I've set
to GMT now, and I'll check it periodically.

Ok, thanks for the explanation etc.
Yes, the timezone must hav echanged for some reason, and I think I know
why now. Sometime around beginning of this month I did a full system
restore on top of a re install of XP, so maybe the timezone changed then??

Oh geez, one of those type of users. If you let anyone modify the
configuration of Windows whenever they want, you will never know in
what state is your computer.

There's your sign.

And most are too lazy to read a Dummies book or even bother to read
the help already included with the OS or application. That does not
alter that THEY are the administrator of their own host (if not
company property) and are responsible for its setup, configuration,
maintenance, security, and operation.
