os won't see entire hard drive

I've got a 300gb ata133 drive as master. I've got several other drives and
have windows installed on one. Well, the OS only sees 127gb and it's a 300gb
drive. It was working fine before, but now not all is seen. Partition magic
805 says bad on the drive for bad partition info or something. format does
not work and pmagic cannot format or create a partition on it or anything.
dos format does not work nor does right clicking on the drive and saying
format.

the disk management tool also shows it as the 300gb, but it won't let me
format it or anything.
no messages that help at all as unable to format is all that happens.

It sounds like your PC does not support 48Bit LBA. Check vendor for a BIOS
update.

HD Tune, provides drive info (including if your PC supports Large drives,
AKA 48Bit LBA)
and has an option to test your drive.
