WINDOWS XP THEME

Well, i hope someone could help me with this problem.... i
have windows xp ,and everything was ok ,but one day my
system crashed
....When i start the computer i notice that the tool bar
and windows
were being display on the windows classic stlyle ,so i
tried to changed
to xp again i went to the appeareance option ,and i found
that the
windows xp style dissapear i just i had windows classic
style
available....damn ,then i tried to changed the theme there
wasn't the
xp
theme i used the windows explorer to searh for the windows
xp style
file
"luna" ,i found it ,i click on it but i didn't load it it
show me this
message: THE VISUAL STYLE COULD NOT BE APPLIED.THE SERVICE
DIDN'T
RESPOND TO STRAT OR CONTROL REQUEST IN A TIMELY FASHION. i
have not
idea
what to do I tried the system restore and i didn't have a
single saved point to restore from,i download the xp style
but i didn't work ,i tried to
reapir
the xp program ,and i had the same result it didn't work.
please help
me!!!!

Hi Maurice,

Common and problematic issue as of late. It has been attributed to an
update, am still researching that issue. In the meantime, here are some
workarounds that hopefully will help:

Go to Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Themes. Set to Automatic.
Also check your settings here:

Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Terminal Services/Log On. At the bottom
ensure that Hardware Profile Original Configuration is Enabled.

If the above doesn't apply/nor help:

Only windows Classic is listed under Appearance:

1. Right click on the desktop and choose Properties.
2. On the Theme tab, choose the Windows XP.
3. If this option is missing, you may choose Browse... to
C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna.theme
4. The Luna.theme is the theme of the Windows XP.

If Luna.theme is missing: Go to Start/Run/Msconfig/Expand Files:
Luna.MS_ and Luna.TH_
