Upgrade is just fine. Just make sure you keep a Windows 95 or new
install CD around, so you have the qualifying media to do a clean
install, if you ever find it neccessary to do.

Provided you have a CD of a qualifying version of Windows (95, 98, ME
NT4 or 2000) you can use the upgrade, showing it the CD as evidence
when it asks where Windows is. If all you have is a 'restore' or
'recovery' CD you would have to restore with that, and then run the
upgrade, changing Upgrade to New Install and then using ESC to clean out
partitions and recreate if you want a clean installation. That cannot
be done over 95, even though a proper 95 CD is accepted as evidence
