I have looked at Google groups for removal instructions. Found Kelly's
suggestion to use Spyware Removal Guideline.com's instructions, but...
They seem fairly complicated for a dummy like me, so I wonder if there is a
simpler method available.
Will appreciate any good guidance you can give me.

(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

Norton/Symantec is pretty good for coming up with removal tools very
quickly for new nasties.
