Hello! I bought a system(compaq deskpro en) with xp pro preloaded. The wga
tool says my xp pro may be not genuine. All indications are that it is. I
downloaded and now cannot remove this 'tool'( kb892130) Help! please!

Hello! I bought a system(compaq deskpro en) with xp pro installed. The wga
tool says that my os may not be valid. All indications are that it is(vendor
and displayed files). I downloaded and installed the 'tool' (kb892130) in
order to be sure of ms support for my system. Now I cannot install it. Help!

The Compaq deskpro is an older model of compaq that came either with Windows
98/Me/2000 installed on it. If you have a COA product key sticker on the
side of it you will see the version of windows installed originally on the
computer. Odds are that whomever you bought this from used a fraudulent copy
of XP Professional the most common. Go Here to validate.

You may be forced to buy a legit copy. Carey will be able to give you that

Sorry guys, I'm a w98 immigrant. Am on xp ground now, and still confused.
Hello pa bear!, good to read you again. Am in eastern standard, I sort of
changed my post in midstream. Sorry about that. Will take your advice and
