Does this error recur when you attempt to start up the computer?
If so then next time you turn it on start tapping the F8 key rapidly
just as soon as the first information of any kind shows on the screen
and keep tapping until the Windows XP Startup Menu appears.
Choose "Last known good configuration" from the menu.
If that doen't allow the machine to start up try again and this time
choose Safe Mode from the menu.
If it starts up okay in either of these modes then use System Restore
to set the system back to the most recent restore point that is prior
to the onset of this problem.
Did you install anything new recently that might have triggered this
error, or perhaps restored your entire system from a backup image?
Good luck.
