I am still having trouble with Symantec's defrag.

So can someone tell me where I can find XP's defrag
and how I can run it manually for any disk whenever
I want to?

Someone got Symantec's defrag to work for me by running
XP's defrag first. So it looks as if I may be better off
using XP's as my basic defrag for now.

TIA,

Nev

Hi Nev,

Try right clicking on my computer and selecting manage. In the computer
management MMC that appears - find the Disk Defragmenter under Storage.

Disk defragmenter can also be used from the command line:
Open a command prompt by going to Start->Run then typing 'cmd' and hitting
enter.
From the command prompt enter defrag and hit enter to see the available
options.

There's a comprehensive guide on scheduling the disk defrag here:

Hi, click "My Computer", right-click the drive you wish to defrag and clicl
"Properties". Select the "Tools" tap and click "Defragment now". Do each
drive in turn.
