See if it will install if you temporarily disable your anti-virus
application.

If no joy, post the error(s) associated with the failure to install (e.g.,
0x0643).

I had the same problem with the Net Framework 3.5 Service pack. The error
code was 0x80070643. According to a Microsoft soft answer to another
download problem that error code indicated something was disabled. I had
recently disabled microsoft indexing. After returning Microsoft indexing to
normal operation the KB951847 installed with no problem. Jones

Hey Jone's,

The error code that I received was 0x80070645 instead of 0x80070643. I
haven't been able to find out what that error code means either. I noticed
that you were under the impression that the error code you received meant
that something was disabled. I have never had a problem with using Windows
Update before - never ever until this Framework 3. 5 cumalative update came
along. It has downloaded the fix but it will not install for the life of me.
I will try to turn my firewall, virus, and spyware software off and see what
happens. ANY SUGGESTIONS ANYONE!!! HELP...Certain Websites that I try to
access does not load properly or seems to time out and then the code cannot
connect or display website comes up...Could this framework 3.5 be causing me
problems??? HELP ANYONE, SOMEONE??? Thanks for your time and your post.

I'm getting the same error code as you, and have for the last 5-6 times
I've tried to install KB951847. It takes a while, but I get the failed
message eventually. I don't know what you meant by "microsoft
indexing"....no clue. Could you tell me how to check the status on that?
I'm using Win XP Pro. Thanks, Phil D.
