XP Home repeatedly failed to install update and new software

Hi,

Two months ago I encounter this problem and also unable to use my IE8 to
open Abode 9 reader + Sun install Open Office Software, the installer always
roll back

For Window Update problem ,I have done some trouble shooting by following
the instruction from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943144. However the
installation still unsuccessful.

Here is the latest Window Update log for your reference.

Appreciate if someone knowledgable could find a solution for me to this
problem.

1. Uninstall IE8 Beta & reboot.

Update is not allowed to download due to regulation

Mr Low, that is basically telling you that Windows Update Site has prevented
your computer from downloading that day.
Try again later

Updates are not downloaded or the "Automatic Updates" icon does not display
the status of downloads when you enable the Automatic Updates service
