" System Restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close.

After searching the forum I performed the SFC function, but no help. This
problem did not occur until I changed my hard drive, and made it larger. I
also found another problem in concert with this weird function. About every 2
days I am loosing a gig of space on the new drive. Guess where is is
going.... system volume information under the _restore function. Does anyone
have any ideas about this??????????????

By default System Restore will use 12% disk space for most size drives. With
larger drives the data store can get quite large, which has been known to
cause problems in System Restore. Setting the data store to approximately 1
GB should be adequate:

Try restoring your system to an earlier date using System Restore in safe
mode. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084 ( How to restore Windows XP
to a previous state) for a detailed guide on how to do this
Note that when you do a System Restore, you will lose configuration changes
that you did from the point that your restored to. So if you had installed
any new software, it will be affected.

Be aware that some popular AV software interferes with
System Restore.
Can we help solve the other problem, that caused the crash?
