I tried to install msn gaming zone and play spades. It
didn't seem to install right, but worked. The next
time I went to play in that room I could not access it
(it was not full) - the window would just blip on then
off.

I am using XP on a Toshiba laptop.

I used 'remove program' to take msn gaming zone off the
computer, but the game directory remains and cannot be
deleted. The windows subdirectory replaces the games
files in itself as soon as I delete them. I watch them
reappear.

I tried going to command prompt and deleting - that
doesn't work either.

Anyone know how to get rid of msn gaming zone?

Thanks

Are you in an account with Administrator rights when trying to delete the
folder? If so, try entering in Safe Mode and delete from there. There's
also a fine little program which I use - quicker and cleaner than regular
Add or Remove in Control Panel - called Add/Remove Pro from
http://filedudes.cablelan.net/win95/shellenh/adrmpro.html . Works really
well on Windows XP.

I am the administrator. The directory has a green square
in the read only property. I can remove it, but it comes
right back.

I'm not sure how to enter safe mode in XP.

thanks

I went to safe mode and then deleted the directory at the
command prompt. When I rebooted, the directory was back.

There must be some cache command buried in the registry
that will not allow the game directory to be deleted.

The add/remove program will not remove it if it can't see
it and it doresn't show up in the list.

I hate software people that do things like this.
