Can someone tell me where and how to insert the runtime
image product key (PID) into the Target Designer in order
to build my final (non-evaluation) version of my Embedded
XP runtime image?

In TD:
Settings: Run-time Image Licensing: Product identification key

If you had used eval version of XPE before, you will need to reinstall it.

Best regards,

Ted,

In Target Designer, under your configuration's Settings. The details pane
has a setting for the "Run-time Image Licensing". Click on Show and an edit
box appears wher you can enter the PID.

Sean,

I too have a problem here. I have entered the 25 character PID taken
from one of my licence stickers into the TD pane as you suggest below.
This seems to build OK, and the normal warning about the 90 to 180 day
evaluation version has been removed. However, the FBA cuts short, and
the system reboots with a 'SYSTEM_LICENSE_VIOLATION' BSOD. Have you
any suggestions at to what the problem might be?

You should examine your sticker more closely and will see dashes.
So your PID is 25+4 = 29 characters long.
