When I double-click a folder icon in Explorer, it tries to add it to the VLC
MediaPlay. I must of checked something when I installed that app.
I went into Folder Options | Edit File Types |Advanced, for folders, and I
see the following entries in the Actions:
Add to VLC media player's Playlist (bold font)
DiskMapper
find
Play with VLC media player
Print Directory Listing
The command buttons in the dialog box only give me New and Set Default
Edit and Remove are disabled - grayed out.
So how do I get it so that when I double click on a folder in the right-side
window, it just opens the folder and shows the files?
Thank you.
If that doesn't work then consider uninstalling the VLC media player and
see if your folder options change back? Or wait and see if anyone else
comes up with a better solution.

In re-reading my original posting, I don't think I explained it properly.
In the Explorer window, the Folders pane is on the left, and the right pane
has the list of subdirectories and files in that folder.
It's the right pane I'm concerned with. When I right-click on a folder icon
in the right panel, the list of menu items.
is:
Add to VLC Media's playlist (this is the bold, default)
Diskmapper
Search...
Play with VLC Media Player
Print Directory Listing
Explore
Open
Cute FTP UPload
I'd like to just move "Open" to the default action, but restoring things to
MS default would be better than what I have now.
