Setting up account on Windows Mail

I'm trying to set up an account but when it gets to the POP3 & SMTP I'm not
quite sure what to enter there. If someone could help me with this
information I would greatly appreciate it. It's very hard for me to send out
attachments or just general mail unless I have it. I'm using Windows Vista
and I do have an hotmail email account. You can respond back to that email
which is mz_nett...@hotmail.com I'll check it periodically to see if
anyone has responded back to me. Again thank you so much.

To set up your Hotmail account in Windows Mail, use these settings:

Use port 587 rather than port 25 for the SMTP server.

Windows Mail's new account wizard is hard-coded to reject Hotmail
and MSN addresses. So, when you enter your email address initially,
use a fake one, such as m...@xhotmail.com. After the account setup is
complete, go back and correct your email address.

Incidentally, do not post your email address in a public forum. It will be
harvested by spammers.

US-based free Yahoo accounts have webmail access only, no POP access.
Windows Mail handles POP mail but not Yahoo webmail.
Yahoo's solution is to pay them for premium "Mail Plus" service:

and use the special settings for that service:

If you are OK with using a non-Yahoo email address, you have these other
solutions that will work with Windows Mail:
* Use the email address assigned to you by your ISP.
* Use a free Gmail, AOL, or Hotmail/Live account.

You can also continue to use Yahoo's webmail: http://mail.yahoo.com

Ok I don't think you understand what I'm asking. Setting up my mail it ask
for a POP3 and SMTP I have hotmail for my email I'm not sure what I have to
put in those two slots for the POP3 & SMTP so I can send & receive email
while using Windows Mail. Do I put for instance: pop3.hotmail.com &
smtp.hotmail.com because when I tried that it didn't work either. I hope that
I explained my problem a little clearer if not thank you for your response
and I'll try to get assistance somewhere else.

Probably you don't understand. Your question appears to be the same
essentially as questions asked nearly everyday in this group and Gary has
provided help for you that has helped many other people. You can find many
previous threads with the same essential question and the same answers.

The link that Gary provided gives you the necessary info to enter.

If you can't handle that, perhaps you should try the newer Windows Live
Mail.
It's easier to access a Hotmail account with it.
