SBS 2003: Archive bit not set after changing file

I didn't find a solution here! We have a SBS 2003 and I realized, that
on files stored on the server (with drive mapped to my client), the
archive bit is not set after changing the file's content. On my local
files (XP SP2) it works fine.
What can I do?

Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
Basically, the archive attribute is used to mark if the file has been
backed up. This attribute will be cleared if you performed a Normal backup
or an Incremental backup on the file.
The Backup Runner is used to initiate the NTbackup, parse the NTBackup log,
and report results back to the SBS Server Management Console. Based on my
test, NTBACKUP will reset the ARCHIVE bit by default. If you want to
prevent resetting, we can change the Backup Type from Normal to Copy. To do
so:
1. Go to Start -> Run "ntbackup" (without quotation marks).
2. On the Backup tab, select the files/folders you want to backup. Click
Start Backup button.
3. Click Advanced.
4. Now in the Advanced Backup Options, you can select Backup Type. By
default, NTBACKUP uses Normal.
There are five Backup Types:
1. Normal: Backs up selected files, and marks each file as backed up.
2. Copy: Backs up selected files, but does not mark any as backed up.
3. Incremental: Backs up selected files only if they were created or
modified since the previous backup.
4. Differential: Backs up selected files only if they were created or
modified since the previous backup. But does not mark them as backed up.
5. Daily: Backs up only files that were created or modified today.

Thanks and sorry for the delay in answering! I am using a local (Client
based) backup up program (robocopy with the /m attribute) to backup
files on a network drive (from our server) to my local client. As I
want backup only changed files (to reduce network load) I need the
archive bit to indicate, if the file has been changed.
Now I found out, that if I change a file on the network drive from my
client computer, the archive bit is not set, so the file will not be
copied. If I use the server console to change the file, the archive bit
is set.
That's the problem - why this behaviour?

I would appreciate any answer.

2. Does this issue occur if it maps the drive from another machine?
