Hi,

Thanks for posting here!

Regarding to your post, I understand that the Link to Outlook option is
missing in Vacation Calendar page of the Companyweb site. If I am off base,
please don't hesitate to let me know.

Before we go further, some things need to confirm with you:

1. The option can not be present on the SBS server box since Outlook has
not been installed here.
2. The Outlook version must be Outlook 2003. If not, there is not the
option.

The "Link to Outlook" button takes advantage of Stssync control to perform
the synchronization between WSS event list and Outlook 2003. The Stssync
control is defined in the OWSSUPP.DLL file, which is installed from Office
2003 installation. By default, this .dll is installed in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11

In the problematic box which the "Link to Outlook" button isn't shown,
please check whether the control .dll file is installed there. If not,
please check your Outlook version or copy the Dll file to C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 folder and re-registry the Dll.

Then try to reboot the workstation to see if the issue be fixed.

If the issue still persists, please help me collect some information for
further troubleshoot the issue:

1. Is the "Link to Outlook" button available on others boxes with Outlook
2003?

2. Was the "Link to Outlook" button available before on the problematic
machine?

I appreciate your time and efforts to the issue. I am happy to be
assistance of you and looking forward to your reply!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny,

Thanks for the response. The Outlook button has never been available on the
problemactic PC. It's not on the other PCs, since the link disappears after
you install the component. I downloaded and installed the OWC11 add-on, but
it doesn't appear to fix the problem. The PC in question is using the SBS
Connection Manager and is a VPN client. The article you referenced for
using Sharepoint is the same set of instructions (with less customization)
that I referenced for companyweb. One point to clarify is that I'm not sure
where to access the OWSSUPP.DLL file except the original Office 2003 CD,
since Outlook was never pushed down to this client. As I just mentioned,
this PC is not a domain PC; rather, it's a VPN client connected to a local
workgroup network. This client PC is running Outlook 2003 and Office XP.

Hi Seth,

Thanks for your update!

I am sorry for the delayed response due to weekend. Please understand that
the newsgroups are staffed weekdays by Microsoft Support professionals to
answer your systems and applications questions. Your understanding is
greatly appreciated!

The "Link to Outlook" feature must be supported by Windows Sharepoint
Service Support component, so please ensure there is the OWSSUPP.DLL file
on the computer. For there is Office XP is installed on the computer,
please check if the OWSSUPP.DLL file under the folder: C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Outlook\OFFICE11

If it is not on the computer, you can run the Outlook 2003 installation
again, in the customization tree view window of Office installation, please
install:
Office tools-->Windows Sharepoint Service Support

After that, the control will be installed into your box.

Also, please check the following registry:

1. Start Registry Editor.
2. Locate the following registry key:
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\11\Outlook\Preferences\
3. Can you see a registry key named "DisableSTS"? If so, please delete this
key and restart the computer to see the result.

We look forward to your test result and glad to be further assistance!

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny,

The WUSSUPP.dll is present on the system. The DisableSTS is not present as
a key in the registry location referenced. I also removed the Exchange over
VPN profile (OST) on the local machine and then rebuilt it. Then I tried a
basic Help Detect/Repair within Outlook. None of these suggestions worked.
I then went to Add/Remove programs and performed a modify installation with
the Office Tools, but this didn't work either. At long last, the final
attempt of performing a repair and reinstallation from Add/Remove programs
did the trick. Fortunately, I didn't have to perform a complete
uninstall/reinstall.

Thanks for your help on this!
