The service is down for a number of users at the moment. Just try again later.

1) Who/what regions are effected?
2) What is causing the outage?
3) When will it be fixed?
Thanks for the clarifications...

They say vista is a revolutionary OS... lol that's the most preposterous lie
I have ever seen!

This page is generally only updated if there is known maintenance or the service has been
down for a significant amount of time.

Actually Windows Update installed some updates today morning.. is it bcoz of
that...?
There was an outage earlier that didn't last too long. The service just came back up --
logging into Pidgin didn't do it I'm afraid.

As I said, there is no cure, the service had an outage earlier today.
Should be fine now.

This is not the first time that logging into and back out of Pidgin has
worked for me in this scenario and for your information, the service status
was reported as "all systems fully functional" during the supposed outage.
I can understand not wanting to admit to another vendors product could
potentially fix errors but i genuinely believe this is the case and will
await the next instance of this error and report back.
I'm getting the same error again....
Inserting these 2 lines in the host file is a TEMPORARY and VERY HALF A**ED
FIX! DO NOT forget to remove them.

I've 4 computers (different WLM IDs) that can't log on to WLM at one site
for the past 24 hours and at another site WLM wasn't available yesterday
afternoon but seems ok today.
CJ
Interestingly, logging in with this in the hosts file, then removing the
entries (commented out for possible future use), rebooting the PC and logging
back in again seems to have solved the issue.
CJ
This meant probably a cache problem somewhere in documents and settings
under my XP account, looking at date and time filestamps I removed the file
in c:\Documents and Settings\default\Contacts\[wndows live
ID]\contactcoll.cache
and the folders in C:\Documents and Settings\default\Application
Data\Microsoft\Windows Live Contacts
(you can backup if you prefer, however these are recreated by WLM
Now I can login to WLM on my XP account with no problems
I've been having this problems for wuite some weeks now.
Thanks!
