"This page has an unspecififed security flaw. Would you like to
continue?"
This warning does not appear if I access the contents of the TIF folder
via Tools/InternetOptions/Settings from IE [or a Shortcut thereto] or
via Favorites/TIFfolder when IE is opened [either online or offline.
How can I eliminate the security warning from the Desktop Shortcut to
the TIF folder?
Thank you.

Hi Granny,
It is normal and Good that the Operating system is telling you that you will
access a Cookies been written with Java Code and telling you that runing this
code may!! be a security risk as some Hackers and Virus Creator can use Java
to write a malicious Code to Hack any system with it, so don't try to access
a Cookie or Java in your temorary file.
If you still need to get ride of it Set your Pop up blocker to Medium or low
on the IE properties window.

Setting the Popup blocker settings to low still yields the same
security warning on the shortcut to the TIF folder.
If I open the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
there is no security warning, but the shortcut to:
C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
creates a security warning.
Why would the shortcut to the TIF folder create a warning when it
is opened, but not the TIF folder itself when it is opened?

I did a scan for viruses and spyware; results were clean.
Deleting the old shortcut to the TIF folder & creating a new one
results in the same security warning.
When this update is removed, the TIF shortcut works without the
security warning.
I am still puzzled why Microsoft would set a security warning on the
shortcut to the Temporary Internet Files folder but no security warning
on the folder itself.
921398 does not cause the symptoms that you experienced on my system (W2K,
IE SP1).
