I have two network cards, and would like to use both of them for the
internet. I know that they cannot both be used for the same request, but
when you think about it, with all the background stuff and multi-file pages,
there are very few situations in which you only need to make one request
(for example, there are often things such as IM and automatic updates
running in the background, you might view a page while doing a separate
download, and almost all pages have graphics that can be separate requests).
I know how to connect using one card or the other, but I want to use both
cards to make simultaneous requests rather than making all requests with the
same card. Is there a way to do this, and if there is, how? Thank you to
anyone for any help you can give.

You need to do a google search for "binding NICs" or a similar search phrase. Windows XP does not natively support binding of connections, but you can find 3rd party software that will accomplish this.

Actually youre "better motherboards" have 2 cards or controllers installed
from the mfg,a server board will always have more than one...However none
are configured to run at the same time for the same request, you could figure
in some adapters so that they'd both be hot to same connection but, youre on
youre own for that one.If you try search engines, use server board topics may
help...

Before you waste any time on this, you need to ask
your ISP if they support it. If they do not, all the
hardware fiddling in the world won't help.

If the above doesn't apply (you're on a LAN with
a big, fat connection to the Net managed somewhere
else), then never mind...

I'm not convinced it will benefit you. Most NICs give at least 10Mb and
usually 100Mb. Your internet line is faster than that?

If his ISP supports it, and he can afford it,
he can get (and pay for) 2 DSL lines and bind
them. That would require 2 NIC's.
