Hello,

I was wondering if anyone is having the same problem I'm having. It started
last week. When one of our users click on certain links on the web the
browser closes. Other time it does not.

It's starting to happen more and more to other work station. I don't know if
it was an update from last week. But I need to figure this out A.S.A.P it's
slowing the users down from working.

Any kind of ideas would be great.

Please see this page http://dts-l.org/goodpost.htm then post back to this
thread with the information we'd need to be able to assist you properly.

Thank you for the link but it doesn't answer why this is happening...

The link wasn't intended to answer why it's happening: It illustrates some
of the information we'd need to be able to assist you, including:

=> Windows verion(s) of the affected machines?

=> Are all machines fully up-to-date at Windows Update?

=> What, if any, updates were installed last week?

=> What, if any, system-wide other changes were made last week?

=> What are the certain links where your users see this behavior?

Otherwise, you may as well have posted, "Something's wrong. Fix it."

BTW, no one here represents Microsoft. We're all volunteers.

Thank you for the help.

Windows verion(s) of the affected machines? XP Sp2

=> Are all machines fully up-to-date at Windows Update? Yes

=> What, if any, updates were installed last week? I don't know we have a
patch management system that install the patches. I will have to find out.

=> What, if any, system-wide other changes were made last week? No network
system were changed.

=> What are the certain links where your users see this behavior? For example
http://www.mycccu.com/personal/ you click on Careers and then location then
back to Careers the windows closes.

Also too these are new computers with new images that we created. I also
ran adware on them to make sure they were clean. I'm still having the problem.

We'd need to know what, if any, "updates" were installed last week.

Tell us more about this. Are you referring to the Win2K machines here, too?

Assuming you meant Ad-aware SE v1.06, that does NOT necessarily mean the
machines are clean (in fact there are at least 2 False/Positives associated
with the Ad-aware update released on 12 Sept-06).

PS: On the WinXP SP2 boxes at least, you could might try using System
Restore, selecting a Restore Point pre-dating the problem(s).
