Hello,

Can anyone tell me what KSecDD is supposed to be, and whether I should be
worried with the following message:

"A trusted logon process has registered with the Local Security Authority.
This logon process will be trusted to submit logon requests.

Logon Process Name: KSecDD "

ksecdd.sys is living in c:\winnt\system32\drivers &
c:\winnt\servicepackfiles\i386
I had applied SP3 and all the various patches for Win2k from MS upgrade
site.

Is there a good web site for information upon understanding the Windows
Event Viewer and all the messages that it can display.

Thanks in advance

Steve

It is the security device driver... You definitely shouldn't be worried
about it.

In the Server Resource Kit there is a file called W2000events.mdb which has
most if not all of the events that can be generated. However it doesn't go
into any great detail about them and certainly doesn't detail all of the
possible drivers and such that could be mentioned in an event log entry such
as KSecDD...

www.eventid.net is a nice site to check out though it isn't MS run.
