Hi all ,
I would like to ask if there is a group policy to auto
logout the client computer when they are idle after 15
mins . If it can , can U tell me which item can enable
this .
Another question is that my company have many computers
with multi languages ... I want to install service pack
with the group policy . what do you suggest ??

Thanks in advance !!

Hi Kelvin-

There's no setting that will force logoff of your users, unless you specify
restricted logon hours for the user(s) in the properties of their account.
Then you could select the Computer Config setting of "Automatically logoff
users when logon time expires" in local policy or GPO at domain or OU level.
The setting is available at Computer Config-->Windows Settings-->Security
Settings-->Local Policies-->Security Options.

As far as your service pack deployment, if your client machines that you are
updating are not using the Multilingual User Interface Pack, then you will
need to do something like place the machine accounts for the machines into
language or geographic (if that is the same) OUs and do the SP deployment
using policies against those respective OUs.

There is no group policy to logoff users after a period of idle time,
however you can use group policy to configure screen saver to password lock a
computer after a certain idle period [user or administrator could unlock it]. If
you actually need a logoff you could use the winexit.scr screen saver from the
resource kit or configure Scheduled Tasks to activate logoff.exe after a period
of idle time. --- Steve
