We have a W2K domain, and I have just installed 1 XP Pro client. On
this client I want to administer the W2K DC. To do this I downloaded
the W2003 admin pack. I can now administer the active directory, but
have come across the following problem...

The "Group Policy" snap-in does not show the following extensions

Scripts (Logon/Logoff)
Internet Explorer Maintenance

Can anyone help.

Regards Ian

Hello Ian,

It looks like we have seen this before. Please try the following on the XP
client:

Hello Ian,

Try the following:

The following items were missing in the group policy editor on an XP machine
with
GPMC under User Configuration -> Windows Settings
Folder Redirection
Internet Explorer Maintenance

Execute the following commands to register the necessary DLLs.
regsvr32 gptext.dll
regsvr32 ieaksie.dll
regsvr32 wsecedit.dll
regsvr32 fde.dll

I was able to reproduce the problem on my XP machine. I think it maybe
related to
having the Win2003 Admin Pak installed on the XP machine

That's a weird one, thanks for the follow up. It needs to be a KB Article.
