How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151/
(Written for Windows XP but it's the same thing for Windows 2000)
A quick way to test for profile corruption is to create a new user
account then copy the suspect profile to the new account and test to see
if the same behaviour occurs, see here for instructions:
http://avidtechnology.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/avidtechnology.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=71660
If the profile is corrupt you don't need to throw away (delete) the
whole profile folder to fix this, see the fix in the other articles.
