SUS which is great.

But i seen during the install it ran the iis lockdown

i get HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error#

all the time.

I would be extremely greatful if anyone could point me in

Please turn off "SHow Friendly HTTP Errors" in your copy of Internet
Explorer (Tools -> Options -> Advanced), and relaod the page. Post the full
error message you now see.

Cheers

You should be able to remove IISLockdown/UrlScan via the add/remove applet.
This should give you time to review the documentation on it and learn how to
modify the urlscan.ini file so that web application still work if you should
decide to re-apply it.

Weird, what operating system is SUS/Web Apps on? (And fwiw, the ".."
indicates to me that the web server has been configured to disallow parent
paths.)

This is a parent pathing error. IIS lockdown will disable it. Go to the
IIS MMC and right click on your web and go to properties then click
configuration and go to the configuration button then go to app options and
make sure Enable Parent Paths is checked.

I assume that was the problem then. I'm sorry I don't know what the printer
problem is.

merry christmas to you too.

You can comment out that entry in the urlscan.ini file

[DenyUrlSequences]
.. ; Don't allow directory traversals

Notice the ".." is not allowed
