It will allow me to open when i'm in Explorer view.
I can also open it in office using the http:// path.
I'm running IE 7 and Office 2003.
I've reinstalled IE7 and done a repair in Office.
I've used a different machine and it worked fine, so it can't be an issue
with my account.
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Andy,
I'm running into the exact same error message (which is how I got
directed here by Google). So are several of my users. Unfortunately,
the OWSSUPP.DLL file copy didn't help. Does the DLL file need to be
registered first?

I believe so, although I tried unregistering it in the Office11 folder and I
was getting errors. I'd say that the 'Office11' dll needs to be registered
and then copied to the Office10 folder. I don't think I registered the
Office10 dll.
Hope that helps..
The solution:
1. Start
2. Run
3. Type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office
\Office11\OWSSUPP.DLL"
4. Click ok to the error message.
5. Try opening the document again.
That worked for me :)
