hello,
i got a new laptop and i can connect on a wireless connection but i cant get
on a ethernet connection on my connection list it shows my wireless and a
1394 net adapter, this connection says it is connected even when there is no
ethernet connected to the computer. i try to setup a new network too but that
won't work.

The 1394 net adapter isn't wireless. You want the ethernet adapter for
wired. Check in Device Manager to make sure it is enabled.

The 1394 connection IS NOT the wired connection, it is the firewire
interface, you need to look at the "local area connection", that is the
wired LAN interface.

You start by doing what I or David B. suggested and check to make sure the
ethernet adapter isn't disabled. OR you take the machine to a competent
local computer tech (or even a very knowledgeable friend as long as they
really are knowledgeable and not just saying they are). If you go the
latter route (really the best solution for you based on your posts), don't
use a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of place.
