Could someone please tell me what makes up the GUID? Is there soemthing
behind the number assigend? It is my understanding that the Project ID
remains unchanged even if the project is renamed or restored. Could you
comment on the validity of that understanding?

Thanks, Ruth Halbach

This is true the GUID remain the same since you create the project (task,
resource, etc) during his "life" until you delete it. Also in AD the concept
of GUID is adopted for OU, ACCOUNT, ETC... from my point of view I can
confirm it.

Thanks Matteo for verifying that this id is 'for life'. I am still looking
for what makes up the ID. There must be some method behind the id assigned.

Generally speaking, there's no formula for creating GUIDs.

Thanks Gary. I was hoping I could find some meaning behind it, but at least
I know to stop looking. Ruth
