I was having problems clicking on hyperlinks (to another slide in the
same presentation). I saw that (in the Edit Hyperlink dialog box) that
the name of the slide began with the first text on the slide, which was
(A)--with the parentheses. I took out that and converted it to 1. The
link worked.

Was this just a sheer coincidence, or is there something ppt doesn't
like about linking to slides with (x) as the title? I use powerpoint
almost exclusively for presentations that contain such links and I'd
like to find out about this if in fact this is the case.

Hi

I'm not sure about ()'s but ,'s are a problem:
Lost hyperlinks, hyperlinks link to wrong place, hyperlinks stop working

Links from a title with coma (for example) won't work.
Take off the coma, put the link and add the coma. That will work

I can't repro the problem with parentheses but as others have mentioned,
commas in the title can certainly make links not work.
