Probably an Addin that uses the clipboard to copy its icons to the toolbar.

Could you please be more specific?

Disable your addins one by one (the ones that create a toolbar on the new
message's window) and see if/when the the behaviour changes back.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Add-ins in Word I am familiar
with. I did not know there were add-ins for Outlook. How do I to see them?

In Outlook click Tools/Options/Advanced/Advanced Options/Com-Add-Ins

Maybe there're Addins listed and responsible - and maybe not. It's just a
try as I can't know your configuration. If you're using Word as e-mail
editor then it's also possible that a Word Addin is responsible.

Michael,

Thank you for your help. My menus are slightly different:
Tools/Options/Other/Advanced/Advanced Options
The rogue was in COM Add-Ins, and it was called "NaturalReader Outlook Add-in"

All is well now!

Regards,
Kevin
