I accidently send email before being done when I am meaning to use the
CNTRL+V function to paste someting into an email. I am curious what I am
hitting by mistake.

I think Control + S sends an email.

That does work quite well, as does Alt + S (not Ctrl + S). My mistake!

I run into this same issue, Julie was not asking how to send an email, she
was asking why does an email get sent when pressing ctrl+v. The same thing
has happened to me on two different computers that I use outlook 2003 on.
You paste some text using ctrl+v and the text is not pasted but rather the
email is sent as if you pressed alt+s or ctrl+enter. I know I am not
pressing either of these. Anyone else run into this?

It happens with Outlook 2003 on different PCs of mine (home & work). It is
not reproducible. I try to remember to use the menu options Edit/Paste
rather than CTRL+V because that always avoids the problem.

Sometimes I forget to, or am willing to take the risk, and most times it is
okay.

It *may* have something to do with the contents of the clipboard, like some
rich text character sequence that is being interpreted as CTRL+Enter or
something. Only guessing, but I think I've not seen the issue when straight
plain text is in the buffer.
