HI

Does the wireless laser mouse 6000 work with Windows 2003 Enterprise?
MS's page says it works with XP but Windows 2003 wasn't mentioned.

The mouse will work.
The Intellipoint software won't.

I wonder why that it. I have a Logitech MX 1000 laser mouse whose
software doesn't work in Windows 2003. Now looking at Microsoft's
offering I have the same problem. I need to use a programmable mouse.
Any suggestions?

I am wondering why vendors are not supporting Windows 2003 which is the
newest Windows. Is it because it's not a desktop OS and thus not many
use it for day to day mousing?

Your last sentence basically sums it up essentially.

I installed Intellipoint and it ran fine under Windows 2003. On what
basis did you conclude that it doesn't run in Win2003?

The Intellipoint software isn't supported in Windows 2003 Enterprise.

ok.. 'not supported' is different than 'will not work'. Will not work
to me means don't bother trying, which wasn't the case. I was able to
program all the buttons and it works just dandy.
Not bad for 'not supported'. I am glad I gave it a shot anyways.

Has any one had any luck with this or know of a way to get it to work...

The mouse itself should work.
It's the Intellipoint software that isn't designed to work on the server
products.

I don't forsee this changing anytime soon.

I cannot get the receiver to detect at all...

The 5.5 versions of Keyboard and Mouse software install and 'appear' to work
if modifying my Intellimouse Explorer 3 mouse.

When I have the receiver plugged in I cannot get it to detect the mouse at
all...

Any hints or places to read some more about I would be happy to.

Then again if you have an easy answer I will go with that Jason.

Cheers,

Stephen

Have you checked to see if it works on another computer?

No :(

I took it back today for a replacement. I have to wait 10 business days now
for them to send it back to MS.
