I just turned over the source for a snap-in created with the snap-in
designer for VB to a client and they're having difficulty building it from
the command line. After installing the requisite components of the January
Platform SDK (VC++ integration and environment variables, 'Build
Environment/Management Services/Microsoft Management Console' and 'Sample
Code\Management Samples\Microsoft Management Console Samples'), they can
build the project from within the VB IDE. But when they try to build it
from the command line (by typing 'vb6 /m <project name>.vbp'), VB crashes
with an unhandled exception every time. The error message that accompanies
they exception reads "Unhandled exception in VB6.EXE (MSSNAPD.OCX):
0xC0000005: Access Violation". I can't reproduce the error on my machine, so
I'm at a loss to assist them.
Any ideas? Please post your reply and cc me at dar...@robotica-inc.com.
