So, I bought a new iMac and took advantage of a bundle offer and purchased
a new copy of Office 2004 so that I could get an upgrade to the pending
new version when it is released next month.

When I moved my existing directory from my old Powerbook to the new iMac
I evidently moved the file that contains the serial number info for Office
because I was never prompted for the s/n when I installed my new copy and
the copy on the new machine is personalized to me as well.

I'd like to be able to enter the new s/n without completely reinstalling
the whole suite and all of the updates again.

Is there a simple way to do this? Will having the old s/n interfere with
the upgrade to 2008? If not, I'll just leave it all alone until I upgrade.

TIA

Launch the Remove Office application, then hold down the Option key at
the first dialog, which will change the Continue Button to read Remove
Licensing Information Only. Click that button and you'll be able to
enter your new key.
