When I do install that update and go to run it I now get the following
error.

the installer could not lcoate the correcct versino of the software
required to install this update. see the read me file included with
this installer to determine if your software meets the requirements
for this update. I then check the requirements and it has all of the
requirements. Any suggestions or is there an 800 # I can call.

Thanks

I am having this error when I run my office trial version for
Entourage.
This identity cannot be opened with this version of microsoft
entourage. This is the error I get when I go to install entourage.
How can I fix
this?

I was told to go t0
"Reapply the latest updates. Go to <http://www.microsoft.com/mac> and
download the updater that's appropriate for your version of Office
and
run
it. After Office has been updated, Entourage should go back to normal
again. "

The only problem is I don't see an update for my verision which is
11.2. Can you please provide me with another solution?

Thanks

The update that you need is 11.3.5, which can be downloaded here:
<http://tinyurl.com/32aqvk>

PS: I used TinyURL to generate this URL as the original address was
too long
and would have been broken if I had pasted it into this message.

The problem with the installer not being able to find the correct updater
shows up periodically, but there is no clear solution.

Is Office installed in your root application folder?
Have you applied the Apple combo updater and then try the updater?
What happens if you run the updater in a different User.
Have you run "Remove Office" and then install from the CD. Does the updater
see it now?

It's possible that you will need to do an Archive & Install to get things
working again. Let me know the answers to the above questions and we'll do
our best to get you updated.

Oh, one last thought...if you have a different volume or computer, can you
install and update Office there. If yes, then you can just drag over the
updated Office 2004 folder.

I believe that office is installed in my root applications folder.
Office is currently under the Applications folder on my Mac HD drive.
I have applied the apple combo and it didn't make a difference.
I have removed office and reinstalled it.

Can you let me know how I can do an archive and install to get things
going again?
Also is there an 800# for support for this?

Thanks
Doug

Did you use "Remove Office" or did you just manually trash?

Apple has an 800 number, but doing an archive & install is pretty simple.

"Archive and Install" moves existing system files to a folder named Previous
System and then installs Mac OS X again.

Just be sure to check Preserve Users and Network Settings when you select
Archive & Install.
