When I started using Entourage, everything was fine in terms of Hotmail and
the ISP accounts at least -- (GMail's another story) -- anyway, I could see
and use my Hotmail on both machines. Then one day all the Hotmail messages
from one Hotmail account (but not the other) started to be sucked into the
main Entourage Inbox -- and were no longer on the Hotmail server -- and
could not be seen in Outlook Express.
I checked the Entourage Help system and as it described how Entourage
handles Hotmail, this supposedly should not and actually would NOT be
ALLOWED to happen. But it did. And only with the one account. Which,
incidentally was NOT labeled as the default or main account.
I deleted the Hotmail account in Entourage and then re-set it up again a few
days later. The program immediately AGAIN pulled in all the new Hotmail and
put it in the Main inbox again (along WITH the messages from my ISP account
which is the default/primary account) (and no more messages ever showed up
in the Hotmail box itself.)
Entourage also started to freeze after running for a few minutes after the
second Hotmail set up. I found an article on Mac Fixit and removed a few
plist and prefs files from where it said to remove them and it starts and
runs now, but I haven't felt like trying to set up the hotmail account
again. So on the Mac, I only access that Hotmail from the clunky web
interface.
Finally, in the middle of this, while Hotmail from this account is showing
up again in Outlook Express, the notation for the Hotmail Inbox -- on that
account only -- has turned RED instead of black. It went back to black for
a day or two after I deleted the HM account from Entourage, but has gone
back to and stayed red. I have no idea what this means.
Any advice??
