When I create a txt label or a control, the default font size is 8. Is there
a way I can change this to 12?

Yes. There are two ways: change the default control's font property or
create a template form with controls that have your preferred settings.

To change the default text box control for all forms and reports, open a
form in Design View and open the Properties dialog window. Select the "Text
Box" icon in the Toolbox toolbar. You'll notice that the Properties dialog
window title bar now changes to "Default Text Box." Select the "Format" tab
and scroll down to the Font Size and change the 8 to 12. Save this change
by selecting the "Save" icon on the "Form Design" menu bar. All text boxes
you create from now on will use the size 12 font. This same technique can
be used for all other default controls.

To use a template form, create or import a form that has all of the
properties you want to use when creating new forms. Select the Tools
menu -> Options to open the Options dialog window. Select the
"Forms/Reports" tab and type the name of the template form you just created
or imported in the "Form template:" text box. Select the "OK" button to
save your change. New forms will use the properties from this template form
whenever the Form Wizard is used to create new forms. This same technique
can be used for reports. Just assign the name of one of your reports in the
"Report Template:" text box in the Options dialog window.

This same technique can also be used for new databases. Just import the
template form and template report into the new database. The name of the
template form and template report is already listed listed in the Options
dialog window. If you forget to import the template form or template
report, then the default "Normal" form template will be used to create new
forms, and the default "Normal" report template will be used to create new
reports.

HTH.
