Hi everyone:

I've installed the module as explain on the microdia google group Web, then when I start the mplayer command the led turns on and the image I saw was to dark. Then I restart the computer and the driver still there in the dmesg command telling me that:

[   14.203760] Linux video capture interface: v2.00
[   14.231987] microdia: Microdia USB 2.0 webcam driver loaded
[   14.231987] microdia: Microdia USB 2.0 Webcam - 0C45:627B plugged-in.
[   14.233328] microdia: Microdia USB 2.0 Webcam is now controlling video device /dev/video0
[   14.233381] usbcore: registered new interface driver usb_microdia_driver
[   14.233385] microdia: v2008.09 : Microdia USB 2.0 Webcam Driver

but when I start the mplayer command I see a black&white checklines test (attatched image). Can you help me?
My web cam is a 045c:627b (1.3 megapixel) as the image with one blue led and one button.

Regards.
Fardatxo.

Hi Fardatxo

Regarding the dark image issue, try this s/w
In order to adjust brightness/color etc use the following utility
Universal control panel for v4l2 devices get your binary packages here,
http://www.debian-multimedia.org/dists/stable/main/binary-i386/package/v4l2ucp.php
or here,
http://www.debian-multimedia.org/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/package/v4l2ucp.php
launch it by executing the following command
$ v4l2ucp

This is a GUI to adjust the picture quality.

Copy-pasted from
https://groups.google.com/group/microdia/msg/9660b927503bec82

If you restarted the machine, then the driver wouldn't be automatically loaded,
need some more info about your setup,

see if using the above v4l2-ucp s/w solves your dark image problems
