Hi

Attempted to install the plugin on the latest Eclipse (indigo) and got the following error:

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Maven Integration for Android Development Tools 0.2.5 (com.googlecode.eclipse.m2e.android.feature.feature.group 0.2.5)
Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Android Development Tools 0.2.5 (com.googlecode.eclipse.m2e.android.feature.feature.group 0.2.5) requires 'org.maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group 0.0.0' but it could not be found

Ring any bells?  I am an Eclipse newbie at this point and might be missing something obvious.  Or is the latest release of Eclipse not supported?  From the error, it is not finding the tools, which should be on the update site URL specified when adding it in the first place?

Thanks,

Johan

Try with Helios first.

Indigo is too new and m2eclipse-android-integration might not be compatible.

I just tried it with J2EE and it works fine.

I installed:
a) ADT
b) m2e
c) m2eclipse-android-integration

I am using the 'plain Java' edition and it seems to come with M2E already, albeit a weird version:

m2e - Maven Integration for Eclipse    1.0.0.20110607-2117

Trying J2EE now to check.

Ok, turns out the Java Edition ships with an incompatible M2E version - downloading and installing the J2EE edition & then installing the plug-ins sorts everything out.    So, just a heads up there is incompatibilities with the Eclipse for Java edition and the plugin

Cheers,

Can you file a bug on the eclipse bugzilla?

That should of course have been 'incompatibilities between M2E plugin version in the Java edition of Eclipse and the M2E Android plugin'.

But is it really a Eclipse issue?  And not or a M2E Android one?

I would say if it works with java ee elipse and not standard java eclipse
packaging it is a eclipse packaging issue.. and therefore a eclipse issue.

You can always create it and let the developers figure it out more..

Hey Guys

Sorry for the late delay on responding to this, I only just noticed
the thread. This is actually an issue with the
m2eclipse-android-integration plugin so please do not raise a ticket
with Eclipse.org.

When Sonatype m2eclipse became Eclipse m2e they moved the OSGi and
Java package names from org.maven.* to org.eclipse.*, completely
breaking the 0.2.5 m2eclipse-android-integration plugin. The new ADT
11 version will also break this plugin.

I'm currently working on a new version of
m2eclipse-android-integration (soon to be renamed m2e-android) so that
it will work with the new Eclipse Maven plugin and ADT 11_, but this
won't be ready for a week or so.

If you want to continue using the 0.2.5 version plugin you will have
to persist with the old Eclipse Helios install, or try installing the
old Sonatype version of the m2eclipse plugin.

Apologies, but m2elipse-android-integration is still beta software.
The new release will be alpha, and I'm hoping to focus more on
stability for this phase of the project so please bear with me.
Patches and help gratefully received.

I've been using Indigo since the first RCs and installed m2eclipse
from the M repo http://download.eclipse.org/technology/m2e/updates/M
(not sure if it's still available, lettered repos are typically for
simultaneous release milestones), version 0.12.1.20110112 and it works
all peachy with m2eclipse-android-integration 0.2.5.

In case of conflicts, you typically have to uninstall the offending
modules and then hunt down compatible versions.

Thanks for the feedback, Kalle. I'll add a note to the
m2eclipse-android-project page to use your workaround until m2e-android
0.3.0 alpha is released.
