Hi everybody,

I'm trying out mapsforge and I follow this instruction but when I start the application the screen still white and when I click on the screen an error occur..
Am I missing something?

I use this configuration for the android virtual device: WVGA (480x800), Android 4.2 - API Level 17, ARM, 512 for RAM, 16 for VM Heap, 200 MiB for Internal Storage, 50 MiB for SD Card and I use host GPU.

Thanks in advance :)

Unless you tell us what error you are seeing, it will be difficult to tell you.

Your problem is unlikely to be related to your emulator.

Do you load a valid map file with mapView.setMapFile ?

Thank you for responding :)

It's because I have no error message during the launching of the application, I only have one error when I clicked on the screen and it is a nullpointerexception on a call back due by I have no map displayed I though.

By reading your message I understand something... I have to set a map file by using the method mapView.setMapFile? I though it was to specify the cache file for the map... (If I may it's not specify here). So the map is no include, where can I find this kind of file?

You can find quite a lot of maps at http://download.mapsforge.org/maps/

Download the file and store it at exactly the location you have in your code. To put a file on the emulator use the adb push command

Hope this helps

Okay, thank you!

Is there any map of the whole world?

I do not think so, but certainly not to any detailed level, it would simply be to big.
