Yes, I have the same problem if I compile 5.4.2.1 with
--with-mfd-rewrites and try running it in a solaris zone.

FWIW, I get 15M of logfile in 10 minutes just from these "error on
subcontainer 'interface container' insert (-1)" errors.

(recompiling without --with-mfd-rewrites works fine, for the time
being.)

For me, the whole purpose of upgrading from previous version was to
make a use of Counter64 for trunked Gigabit interfaces. Yes, compiled
snmpd with --with-mfd-rewrites spews out those annoying messages when
running it in the zone. I am trying to find out if there is a work
around for that ...
I am not looking at the source code to find out what it is that's
causing it .. probably calling a some system call that is not allowed
in the zone or something similar is my guess... Until this is dealt
with, would need to use without mfd-rewrites.. to run under zones.
