The short answer is, yes you can, but it may take some work. Start
your investigations with leoSettings.leo, the node::

@settings-->Keyboard shortcuts-->About modes

Several sets of (disabled) key bindings use modes to give multi-key bindings.

I hope to make Leo more flexible in this area for Leo 4.9.

I find that
@settings->@Keyboard shortcuts -> @ignore Unused key bindings -> @keys
Default Emacs shortcuts

And I see that

beginning-of-line = Alt-Up
beginning-of-line = Control-a

The 'Control-a' doesn't work, and I think it's because it's under the
@ignore line.

Q1 : Is it OK to remove the @ignore to use Control-a key?
Q2 : is the multiple key setup works? I mean Alt-Up, home, and Control-
a can be used for beginning-of-line without any problem?

Right. To enable the emacs setting, move them out of the @ignore node
and put the EKR settings into the @ignore node.

After that, the recommended way is to make any desired *personal*
changes in an @keys node in myLeoSettings.leo. Make sure that this
@keys node is a descendant of the @settings node in myLeoSettings.leo.

Isn't it a good idea to copy all the @shortcuts Emacs under @keys EKR
bindings?
BTW, what EKR stands for?
