The TK interface changes the background color of a node's headline and
the node's body pane depending on whether the current mode is Command
mode or Insert mode. Currently, Qt doesn't indicate the mode. Are
there plans to support using the background color as the indicator in
the Qt interface or, better yet, change the cursor shape to better
provide Vim support? In Command mode, Vim highlights the current
character by shading the characters background. In Insert mode, Vim
uses the vertical bar as it is currently used in the Qt and Tk
interfaces.

Yes, I'd like to see this. Any help would be appreciated :-)

Unfortunately, my time is devoted to my project in which Leo is one of
the tools I use. I will continue to use the Tk interface until the Qt
interface reaches the needed level of maturity.

Sorry I can't spend more time enhancing Leo.

No problem. It will be enough if we all do what we can.

Leo's wrappers already have and event filter, would it be possible to
detect focusin/out events and recolor the widgets background then?

Thanks to the credit crunch, I have far too much time on my hands :(

It's a good, and natural, idea. It's on the list now.
